Resumes

You do not need to disclose your disability on your resume, but certain activities you include might suggest you have a disability. It is your choice to include those activities.

Cover Letters

You do not need to disclose your disability when writing a cover letter. It is your choice to include experiences that self-disclose.

Job Search

You may utilize any search strategy you’d like, including search engines that do not identify themselves as disability job search sites. You have the right to apply for any job in which you can complete the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Interview

It is your responsibility to inform the employer if you need accommodations for an interview. An employer may not ask if you have a disability before a job offer is made. However, they can ask whether you can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Disclosure

It is your decision whether or not to disclose your disability; however it is your responsibility to inform your employer if you need accommodations.
