Who participates in the In-Residence Workshops?
All students enrolled in a non-licensure doctorate degree program will be required to attend three In-Residence Workshops.

When will I be scheduled to attend the In-Residence Workshops?
You will work with your student advisor to schedule your workshops. Below is a guideline:

  • Students will be scheduled to attend In-Residence Workshop 1 following completion of 2-6 courses;
  • Students will be scheduled to attend In-Residence Workshop 2 following completion of 7-12 courses; and
  • Students will be scheduled to attend In-Residence Workshop 3 following completion of 13+ courses and prior to enrolling in Dissertation Planning I or Applied Doctoral Project Planning I.
  • Students can elect to take a 4th In-Residence Workshop to support completion of their Dissertation or Applied Doctoral Project.

What is the attendance policy for In-Residence Workshops?
Students who attend the In-Residence Workshop are expected to actively participate the full sixteen hours of instructional time. Failure to actively participate 90% or greater (at least fourteen hours) of instructional time during the In-Residence Workshop will result in the student being withdrawn from the workshop, and he or she will be required to repeat the workshop.

What airport should I use for arrival and departure?
The airport to use for travel to Denver is the Denver International Airport (DEN). Please provide yourself with ample time for travel to University of the Rockies and plan your flights accordingly to meet the 90% attendance requirement.

Who should I contact if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
Please contact your Student Adviser immediately if you experience any delays or cancellations in your flight schedule.

Do you have a list of hotels that are in the area? Local restaurants?
Prior to your In-Residence Workshop, you will receive information on hotels and restaurants via email.

Will there be a shuttle from the airport to my hotel?
Please check with your hotel for information on a courtesy shuttle from the airport to the hotel and the hotel to class. University of the Rockies will not provide shuttle service. You may also choose to rent a car at your own expense to have transportation while attending the In-Residence Workshop.

There is also a train that runs to/from downtown Denver’s Union Station and Denver International Airport. From Union Station, you can access both the Westin and Sheraton via the free MallRide that runs along 16th Street mall. For more information, check the Regional Transportation District (RTD) website.

If I drive my own car, or a rental car, do I need a parking pass while I'm on site in Denver?
A parking map and instructions will be emailed to you in your information packet. If you park in the Tabor Center parking facility, parking vouchers are available upon request when you check into the In-Residence Workshop on Day 1.

What time should I arrive for class on the first day?
Please be at University of the Rockies in Denver, CO (1201 16th Street, Suite 200) by no later than 10:00am on the first day of your scheduled In-Residence Workshop.

How do I check in and receive my workshop materials?
You will be enrolled in an online classroom at least three days before the In-Residence Workshop starts. Information from your instructor and other materials may be posted there. Once you begin your In-Residence Workshop, please contact your instructor regarding the required materials for the In-Residence session.

When you arrive to the campus, you will check in at the security desk and at the front desk.

What if I need accommodation for a disability?
Please write to Access@rockies.edu or visit www.rockies.edu/campus/disabilityservices at least one month in advance of your visit for information and/or to request accommodation.

What is proper dress attire while I am attending In-Residence Workshops?
Please dress in "business casual" attire while attending In-Residence Workshops at University of the Rockies.

What is my schedule?
You will need to be at University of the Rockies in Denver, CO on the following days and times:
Day 1: 10:00am – 5:00pm
Day 2: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Day 3: 9:00am – 12:00pm

How often do we receive breaks throughout the day?
You can plan on having a break approximately every 90 minutes to 2 hours, plus lunch breaks on Day 2 and Day 3.

Are any meals provided?
Though snacks will be provided, you will be responsible for all meals while attending In-Residence Workshops.
