Who participates in the in-residence weekends?

All students enrolled in an online doctorate degree program will be required to attend in-residence weekends for three of their courses. Please work with your Student Advisor to determine when you have reached the point in your curriculum to enroll for the in-residence weekend courses.

What is the attendance policy for in-residence weekends?

Students who enroll in courses containing an in-residence requirement are expected to attend the full sixteen hours of instructional time. Failure to attend 90% or greater (at least fourteen hours) of instructional time during the in-residence weekend will result in the student being withdrawn from the course and he or she will be required to repeat the course.

Who should I contact if I am unable to travel the weekend of my in-residence course(s)?

Please be sure to let your Student Advisor know as soon as you are certain that you will be unable to travel for your in-residence courses.

What airport should I use for arrival and departure?

The airport to schedule for travel for in-residence weekends is the Denver International Airport (DEN). Please provide yourself with ample time for travel to University of the Rockies and plan your flights accordingly to meet the 90% attendance requirement.

Who should I contact if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

Please contact Lynn Zoellner at 719.442.0505, ext. 6290 if you experience any delays or cancellations in your flight schedule.

Do you have a list of hotels that are in the area? Local restaurants?

Prior to your in-residence weekend, the Student Services Support Specialist will email you information on hotels and restaurants.

Will there be a shuttle from the airport to my hotel?

Please check with your hotel for information on a courtesy shuttle from the airport to the hotel and the hotel to class. University of the Rockies will not provide shuttle service. You may also choose to rent a car at your own expense to have transportation while attending the in-residence weekend course(s).

If I drive my own car, or a rental car, do I need a parking pass while I'm on site in Denver?

A parking map and instructions will be emailed to you in your information packet.
