University of the Rockies Alumni Statistics


The following information is provided to comply with United States Department of Education requirements for reporting employment rate calculations derived from alumni surveys. This information is provided for degree levels only and does not reflect data for specific programs. The information has been derived from self-reported alumni surveys and reflects the individual experience of the alumni who reported the information. Readers should not make assumptions about their own future employability based on the information below, as the nature of employment considerations varies by individual hiring managers.

Master's-Level Alumni Employment Information


In April 2011, University of the Rockies invited students who had successfully graduated from University of the Rockies to participate in an alumni survey. The invitees included students who graduated from University of the Rockies on or after September 20, 2002. Employment information for Master's-level alumni of the University is reported here. Of the 155 Master's-level alumni who were invited to participate in the survey, 76 responded to the survey for a response rate of approximately 49%.

Based on the April 2011 alumni survey results, 78% of University of the Rockies Master's-level alumni who: earned a Master's degree at the University, responded to the survey, and did not indicate that they were not actively seeking employment, reported that they were employed in a full-time or part-time position as of the survey date. The University used the following data to calculate this rate:

  1. Total Master's-level alumni survey respondents: 76
  2. Master's-level alumni survey respondents who indicated they were not actively seeking employment for one of the following reasons - Family Emergency, Continuing Education, or Otherwise Not Currently Seeking Employment: 13
  3. Master's-level alumni survey respondents who responded they were employed full-time (30 or more hours per week): 39
  4. Master's-level alumni survey respondents who responded they were employed part-time (less than 30 hours per week): 10
  5. Master's-level alumni survey respondents who responded they were not employed and indicated they were actively seeking employment: 14
  6. The employment rate was calculated by adding items 3 and 4 and dividing the total by the difference between items 1 and 2.


The calculation also included the following additional steps and exclusions:

  • Survey respondents were counted as employed whether they obtained their current employment following graduation or already held their current employment prior to or during their enrollment at the school.
  • Survey respondents were counted as employed whether or not their current employment was in their field of study at the University.
  • Survey respondents were counted as employed if they reported that they were employed as of the survey date, rather than if they were employed as of, or shortly after, their graduation date. In some cases, the survey date is several months or years after students' graduation dates.
  • The employment rate does not include data on whether the alumni who did not respond to the surveys - (approximately 51%, or 79) of the 155 Master's-level alumni invited to participate - were employed or not employed.

Doctorate-Level Alumni Employment Information


In April 2011, University of the Rockies invited students who had successfully graduated from University of the Rockies to participate in an alumni survey. The invitees included students who graduated from University of the Rockies on or after September 20, 2002. Employment information for Doctorate-level alumni of the University is reported here. Of the 122 Doctorate-level alumni who were invited to participate in the survey, 65 responded to the survey for a response rate of approximately 53%.

Based on the April 2011 alumni survey results, 100% of University of the Rockies Doctorate-level alumni who: earned a doctorate degree at the University, responded to the survey, and did not indicate that they were not actively seeking employment, reported that they were employed in a full-time or part-time position as of the survey date. The University used the following data to calculate this rate:

  1. Total Doctorate-level alumni survey respondents: 65
  2. Doctorate-level alumni survey respondents who indicated they were not actively seeking employment for one of the following reasons - Family Emergency, Continuing Education, or Otherwise Not Currently Seeking Employment: 0
  3. Doctorate-level alumni survey respondents who responded they were employed full-time (30 or more hours per week): 52
  4. Doctorate-level alumni survey respondents who responded they were employed part-time (less than 30 hours per week): 13
  5. Doctorate-level alumni survey respondents who responded they were not employed and indicated they were actively seeking employment: 0
  6. The employment rate was calculated by adding items 3 and 4 and dividing the total by the difference between items 1 and 2.
