August 2011 Graduation Information

- Golden Key International Honour Society Induction Ceremony – Friday, August 19, 2011, at 5 pm at Cheyenne Mountain Resort: 3225 Broadmoor Valley Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
- Graduation/Alumni Dinner – Friday, August 19, 2011, at 6:30 pm at Cheyenne Mountain Resort: 3225 Broadmoor Valley Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.

- Commencement Ceremony – Saturday, August 20, 2011, at 2:00 pm at Pikes Peak Center: 190 South Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Graduates must be approved to attend the ceremony through the Petition to Graduate process. Graduates will be required to arrive early for picture-taking and to line up for the ceremony. Guest seating will not be limited for the 2011 commencement ceremony. More information will be forthcoming as the date nears.
Note: There will be no student rehearsal for commencement. The day’s timeline and instructions will be provided to attending students in advance of the ceremony.
- Reception – Saturday, August 20, 2011, following the Commencement Ceremony at Pikes Peak Center.

Deadlines for graduation ceremonies and diploma dates are indicated on the Petition to Graduate form.
Petitions received after the deadlines will be forwarded to the next commencement ceremony date.
Yes, all students must submit a Petition to Graduate form and applicable fees in order to graduate, even if you choose not to participate in the commencement ceremony.
The date of degree conferral recorded on your diploma will reflect the date you complete all degree requirements. Degree completion is generally recorded on a student's official transcript within 30 days of completion of all program requirements. Diplomas are generally ordered within 30 days of completion of all program requirements and payment of all related tuition and fees. Ordered diplomas may take six to eight weeks to arrive. Diplomas, certificates, and transcripts will be withheld until all accounts at the University are paid in full. Diplomas will not be issued at the graduation ceremony.
Degree completion is recorded on your official transcript within 30 days after completion of all program requirements. The Request for Transcripts form includes an option to send the transcript after the degree is posted. Transcripts will not be released until your account balance is paid in full, including the graduation fee.
Once your degree is awarded, one official transcript will be mailed to your current address. You can order additional official University of the Rockies transcripts at $5 per copy. Please complete a Transcript Request form.
Complete a Student Request for Recommendation form and send it directly to the University of the Rockies individual from whom you are requesting a recommendation. Please be sure to explain exactly what you need in your request, in addition to sending the form.
Please also be aware that requests for recommendations are fulfilled at the professor’s or staff member’s discretion. Professors may choose to fulfill a request right away, may require a longer timeline to write letters, or may decline to fulfill requests.

Students must have completed a Petition to Graduate form, be eligible to attend, and have indicated that they will participate in the ceremony to have a cap and gown ordered. The cap and gown will be mailed prior to the graduation ceremony.
