UoR Supports the Nation's First Responders by Offering the First Responders Grant

University of the Rockies is now offering a First Responders Grant eligible to students attending University of the Rockies who serve as federal, state, or county local first responders such as police officers, sheriffs, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics across the United States.

“University of the Rockies recognizes the sacrifices our nation’s first responders make while serving and we are committed to providing those first responders attending the university with a quality education,” said Dr. Jeremy Moreland, University of the Rockies provost. “The university, which focuses on the social and behavioral sciences, offers a variety of degree programs online which allows first responders with hectic work schedules to further pursue their education at their own time and pace.”

First responders students interested in the grant must be enrolled in one of the following University of the Rockies programs: master of arts in psychology, doctor of psychology, criminology and justice studies specialization, master of arts in organizational development and leadership, or doctor of philosophy in organizational development and leadership.

The First Responders Grant amount for master’s degree-seeking students will equate to 20 percent of the cost of tuition. The grant amount for students seeking a doctoral degree will equate to 15 percent of the cost of tuition. In addition, the grant will waive the institution’s technology fee or technology services fee, and sales tax charged on tuition and fees.
