Organizational Consulting Concentration
Overview:
The Organizational Consulting concentration within the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD), Clinical Specialization degree program at University of the Rockies is designed to give you knowledge and skill in applying clinical skills in organizational and business settings. Corporations and not-for-profits face a number of challenges in selecting, managing, developing, supporting, and planning their strategic human resource initiatives for which clinical psychologists are well suited.
Concentration Requirements (9 credits):
This concentration requires the first two courses listed below:
PSY 8505 (ORG 6505) Diagnosing Organizations (3 credits) - This course explores qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis that leaders and consultants use in organizations with particular attention to interview and observation. An understanding of organizational structure and organizational life-cycle development is provided. The course also examines how leaders in organizations can mediate high performance and learning through project team development, communication, collaboration, and individual and group conversation-based assessment.
PSY 8521 (ORG 6521) Coaching & Building Teams (3 credits) - This course explores the complex psychological contracts, verbal and non-verbal, between leaders and followers that may take multiple forms. The dynamics between two or more people and between leaders and small groups are key topics. Group formation and group development as well as the intricacies of coaching and mentoring are examined with an emphasis on both exploring and developing high functioning teams.

- ORG 8500 Advanced Topics in Organizational Consulting (3 Credits)
- ORG 8527 Globalization and Diversity in Cultures (3 credits)
