Definition of an Academic Term

Rather than the typical semester-long grading period, a term at University of the Rockies is a nine-week period during which there is a minimum of 36 contact hours in the classroom with a faculty member. There are five terms per academic year. A normal academic load during a term is six semester hours of coursework (two courses). However, some terms have an additional course that may be spread over more than one term; this is especially true for Professional Issues seminars and for Practica and Internships.
